Incredible Slot Car Track - White Lake Formula 1 Ring!!!
James Harlan of Pontiac, Michigan has a spare room a lot of men would die for.
Whilst the majority of todays kids and dads take to the Xbox for a quick race on Forza motorsport, James has set about making a real racing heaven, allbeit in 1/32 Scale.
The track is 145ft long, has 19 turns and features a 2.5ft elevation change. No detail has been spared, the track includes a working pitlane, several bridges, stands and even a lighting system for his 14 minute .24hr le mans race.
I'll leave the pictures and video to say the rest.
However great this track is, it takes real dedication to get results like this! If you want something a bit easier, almost as fun and much cheaper check out our Digital Layouts page. Our top of the range Jadlam Racing Models SL16 Digital Scalextric Layout, is the same size as this!
Thanks for looking.

JRM Visits one of the UK's Largest Model Railways
On Sunday afternoon i decided i needed to go get some DIY Materials, so we hopped in the car and went to Trago Mills in Newton Abbot. It wasnt until i got out of the car i remembered they have what once used to be the UK's Largest Model Railway.
So i grabbed my camera and headed across to the building and happily paid the £1 entrance fee.
Up on entry i was gob smacked at the size of the layout, it is massive!
I managed to grab an attendant and ask a few questions about the railway, it turns out it was all started in 1988 at a cost of over £100,000 and took 9 whole months to assemble. However they are constantly changing and adding new features to keep the crowds coming. The layout is capable of running 32 00 Guage trains simultaneously, as well as the various lights, fairground attractions and moving hot air balloons!! Its all controlled by rather old AMR Systems, (Personally i'd hook it up to a few new Hornby Elite Controllers.)
I Managed to get some photos, however my camera died so the only pictures i have to show are very poor quality taken on my phone!(Plus the lighting didnt help!)
I'd recommend popping in if you are ever in the Exeter Area, its quite interesting to see what can be achieved given the time and budget!!
For now though (Unless you have a £100k burning a hole in your pocket and a town hall to set it up) i would recommend a Jadlam Racing Models Hornby HL Custom Layout
